MESSAGE NOTES

How To Prevent Brokenness In Your Life
Genesis 3:1-13

Satan exists. Evil spirits exist. – Genesis 3:1-3

  • Key Concept: Satan is real. Evil spirits are real.

  • Key Verse: 2 Corinthians 11:13-15 - For such people are false apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. It is not surprising, then, if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve.

  • Community Group Application: Community group members are aware that Satan and his kingdom of darkness are real.

Satan is deceptive and his way leads to brokenness. – Genesis 3:4-5

  • Key Concept: Satan is deceptive and raises doubts about the Word of God and about the goodness of God.

  • Key Verse: Galatians 6:7-8 - Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.

  • Community Group Application: Community group members recognize Satan’s deceptions by learning the Word of God.

God’s Word is always right and leads to wholeness. – Genesis 3:6-24

  • Key Concept: The Word of God brings life and order; the lies of Satan bring chaos and death - Allen Ross

  • Key Verse: Proverbs 3:5-6 - Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

  • Community Group Application: A knowledge of God’s Word and accountability are essential to prevent brokenness in our lives.

B. Purpose: Our purpose is to spread the Kingdom of God. We do this by multiplying groups of people who care for each as God's family.
