Genesis 27:1-41 (background reading) and Genesis 32:1-31

This study looks at an encounter with God that Jacob had.  

1. Read the background in Genesis 27:1-41.

2. Note that Jacob had cheated his brother Esau and had run away.

3. Jacob is now returning to meet his brother Esau after many years. 

4. Chapter 32 is the scene where Jacob encounters God and God changes him.

We look at 3 lessons & one outcome about how God transforms our lives.

• Lesson 1: When God gives you a promise, don't doubt.

• Lesson 2: You need a personal encounter with God in order to change.

• Lesson 3: An encounter with God needs determination and perseverance.

• Outcome: An encounter with God leads to physical and spiritual transformation.
