How to Live in Victory: The Armor of God
Ephesians 6:10-17
We look at 3 aspects of living in victory:
Have the Right Goal – Ephesians 6:10-13
Close the Doors of Your Life – God’s Inner Armor – Ephesians 6:4-15
Use the Armor God Provides – God’s Outer Armor – Ephesians 6:6-17
I. Have the Right Goal – Ephesians 6:10-13
Key Concept: Walking or running, stumbling, or limping, it doesn't matter. Stand firm. Don’t quit. Finish the race.
Key Verse: 2 Timothy 4:7-8 - I have finished the race. I have fought the good fight. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.
Community Group Application: Being part of a group of fellow believers is essential for you to stand firm.
II. Close the Doors of Your Life – God’s Inner Armor – Ephesians 6:4-15
Key Concept: Satan looks for small areas in our lives to exploit.
Key Verse: Ephesians 4:26-27 - “In your anger do not sin”: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold.
Community Group Application: Having people in your life in a community group is key to identifying doors that need to be closed in your life.
III. Use the Armor God Provides - God’s Outer Armor – Ephesians 6:6-17
Key Concept: God has given us everything we need for life and godliness to stand strong, but we must put on His armor.
Key Verse: 2 Corinthians 10:5 - We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
Community Group Application: When we gather with others and study the Bible, we receive a word from God for our situations.
