Foundations of Spiritually Strong Children - Genesis 1:1-25

Lessons from Creation
Foundation One: Knowing there is a beginning & an end - Genesis 1:1-3

  • Key Concept: Don’t Waste Your Life! How you live your life and the choices you make matter.

  • Key Verse: Psalm 90:12 - Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.

  • Community Group Application: Community groups have a purpose: they are light in the darkness. Followers of Jesus have a purpose: bring Jesus' light to others.

Foundation Two: Knowing that God is real, God is personal, & God cares - Genesis 1:4-15

  • Key Concept: Jesus came to show us what God is like.

  • Key Verse: Hebrews 1:3 - The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.

  • Community Group Application: Make passion number one to know Jesus.

Foundation Three: Knowing that God is the Creator & everything we see is His creation - Genesis 1:16-25

  • Key Concept: God creates everything out of nothing, and it was good.

  • Key Verse: Romans 1:25 - They exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.

  • Community Group Application: Followers of Jesus let God create amazing things through their lives.

A. Welcome

B. Purpose: Our purpose is to spread the Kingdom of God. We do this by multiplying groups of people who care for each as God's family. We begin by inviting new people to our group and building them to be followers of Jesus. Each person here has the potential to be empowered to start and be the leader of a new group and spread God's kingdom.
